APS Victorian Goldfields - Bicycle Day Picnic & Bike Ride

  • Castlemaine Botanical Gardens Walker Street Castlemaine, VIC, 3450 Australia (map)

The Australian Psychedelic Society's Vic Goldfields group is hosting a picnic and bike ride to celebrate Bicycle Day, the day in 1943 when Albert Hofmann confirmed the psychoactive properties of LSD.

We're planning to meet at the rotunda in Castlemaine Botanical Gardens. The rotunda is on the lawn to the north of Lake Johanna. If the weather’s fine we’ll picnic on the lawn.

The bike ride component is optional, and we're sure it'll be fun for those who bring bikes. But if cycling’s not your thing, that’s fine, you can just chill in the gardens!

There’s no obligation to bring anything other than yourself (and maybe a friend), but if you feel so inclined then here are some ideas on what to bring:

- bike and helmet

- picnic rug

- food to share

- drinks

- musical instruments

- games

- psychedelic books to talk about or swap

Please note that this is a drug-free event. APS events allow likeminded people to meet and discuss psychedelics and related matters. The APS does not endorse any illegal activity at our events.
