Decriminalisation Panel Discussion
Our Decriminalisation panel in August received an overwhelmingly positive response from our community. We stand as staunch advocates for decriminalisation, considering it a crucial step toward putting an end to the war on drugs. While we acknowledge the progress made in the ACT and QLD, we stress the importance of more substantial and well-structured changes. Our position statement presents a comprehensive framework that outlines the necessary legislative adjustments required to decriminalise certain illicit substances.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our panellists, with special recognition to Jane for her insights into the current flaws of our criminal system. Their contributions facilitated a well-rounded and enlightening discussion, providing many of us with an opportunity to reflect on what advancing decriminalisation in Australia could entail.
